Now this is really damn good. Great ideas in regards to the contstruction, while maintaining the classic silhouette. Bravo. Does the red A shirt across the chest connect with the Cape in the back? Or does the cape connect with the collar?
Hey all! Sorry for the delayed response! Thanks so much for the kinds words.
Ming and Mr. McNally:
I've seen both of your super-pieces and I've gotta say they are my top two favorites for this one!
Felipe:
Thanks for the vote of confidence! Also, thanks for looking in.
Daniel: Glad you like the design. The cape connects to the collar. I was thinking about it as part of a one-piece strongman's outfit, but decided connecting the cape to the back of the shirt wouldn't allow for all of the great cape removing moments Superman has had over the years.
Brian: Thanks, pal.
Jeremy: I'm glad you think so! I like to think that Ma Kent's kitchen smells like apple pie 24-7.
Kate: I'll try to use more roosters in the future.
Chris:
As far as my thoughts on the design, I really tried to concentrate on what makes superman, superman to me. A lot of people concentrate on the whole alien aspect of his story, but I think at the core the thing that makes him really interesting is his enthusiasm for all things human. I've always felt that Bruce Wayne is an invented persona for a man who has truly become Batman. I think that Clark is actually the true face of Superman and the identity that is most comfortable for him. Not bumbling Clark, but aw shucks I'm from Kansas Clark. I've also always liked the detail in the story of his origin about Ma Kent making the uniform for him out of his Kryptonian blankets. This uniform is what I imagine a Kansas farm lady would make for her son if he decided he should go out and save the world. It's got a bit of 1930's athlete, circus performer, and fairytale prince. I think it suits him, and her.
Zak: Thanks! I guess we'll see how it goes. I think there have been a lot of good ones for this contest.
Krissy: Wow! Calm down there, lady. I've seen your entry and it's pretty slick! I've also been crazy busy so far this summer, and really bad at returning mail as usual. Don't count me out though! I think I'd make a pretty descent mentor (if you want mentoring in how to be a grade A goof). I'll drop you a line soon. Don't put me on the hated list. According to your post there you've managed to damn me 4 times over. I hope that somehow reverse damns me and I get lots of free icecream or something.
Once again, thanks to all for the niceness and for looking at my stuff. You are swell and well appreciated.

You win at being the best, DKrall!
Heartwarming, winsome, and, yes, wholesome.
